sky hd review Since I first got my Panasonic hd tv, the first thing on my mind was how long do I have to wait to receive sky high definition put in. I’d already seen hd films via my apple tv and was real smitten, but I could not sustain paying for rented movies. What I genuinely wanted is sky, I wanted all the movies and I wanted football in high definition. I had read many sky hd reviews that I had to just order the dam thing. How did I order sky hd Well I got online and signed up, it took about ten minutes and was pretty painless, most of my time was spent blending up the packs, removing and adding – did I actually want sky arts. I opted for the sky hd box, the high-def pack and the movie pack. It was quite pricey I would now find myself paying barely under sixty pounds per month but would have everything I wanted in high def. It took a couple of weeks to get the whole thing installed, I live in apartments and already have a shared dish, so the sky set up was just some bloke giving me the sky hd box, and installing it. I could have done this myself, but it was this chaps job. It took him about five mins, afterwards which he gave me a quick rundown on the characteristics. I just needed him to leave so I could play with my new toy. Learn more sky hd review How good is the hd picture The high-def picture quality is in a word impressive. The easiest way I can describe it? well, I wear specs the images on a regular tv is like seeing without my glasses, blurred, lack of detail etc. When you see a hd image is like wearing the glasses so much more detail, strong you start to see things that you would never find on the old picture. I found myself thinking what would the matrix look like in high definition, before I knew it I was watching all my favourite films again in hd. Other benefits of sky high-definition Well the other major benefit from my point of view is the sound quality. Sky pumps out dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. So, like me, if you have a 5.1 system, I have a sony, can’t recall the model but it cost a lot, then the sound is spectacular. The remote record feature is also a outstanding feature. It basically allows you to visit the sky website, view the television schedule, and record. So if you are at work you can browse the schedule and record at your lesiure, when you get home everything will be sitting inside your sky HD box ready to view. Free broadband – I was a little dubious about the free broadband. I was with bt, and they had the worst service. I was lucky if I got 1mb download speed, despite many telephone calls they never solved it. When you call bt youre calls are sent to india, where despite their best efforts the staff are just reading from a script. I could never understand what they were saying and got really frustrated. So thanks to bt, I decided to opt for the sky broadband and try and save a bit of cash, I was paying bt 20 pounds for the delight of their terrible service. I got the sky hd box working first, and finally got the free broadband a couple of weeks later, as bt were slow in making things happen their end. I was dreading trying the net as I thought it would be slower than bt. To my surprise the connection was a full 2mb, I know this is not the fastest but for me I was jumping with joy.
